COLORADO SPORT INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW
TO EXPAND EVENT IN 2010

DENVER, Colorado, October 20, 2009 – Colorado Sport Aviation, Inc. (CSA) today announced plans to add additional attractions to its air show and fly-in for 2010. Next year’s event will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of its venue. The Colorado Sport International Air Show and Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-In will be held August 28 & 29, 2010 at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, CO.

“CSA is exploring some new and exciting air show acts for 2010 to provide the audience with an enhanced experience,” said Scott McMillan, air show director. “Also, based upon feedback from the 2009 show, CSA will be expanding the static display area to include more warbirds and vintage aircraft. In addition, Saturday will now feature three unique and distinct air shows, culminating with CSA’s signature Twilight Air Show.” Following the twilight performance, Saturday’s activities will conclude with a fireworks show celebrating Metro Airport’s 50 years of success.

"We are happy to partner with CSA to celebrate this major milestone for Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport," said Kenny Maenpa, Airport manager. "The event will not only celebrate the airport’s history and importance to the community but also provide great family fun and enjoyment for our neighbors in the Denver metro area and throughout the region."

“Improvements in the Fly-In experience are also planned for 2010,” said Jim Cimiluca, event director. Based on the successful launch of its “Pilot Stimulus Package,” CSA will add additional value to the package and provide even greater incentive for pilots to fly their aircraft in and participate in the event. “Our goal is to bring the largest group of flyin aircraft ever seen to Metro Airport, filling the rows with every type of aircraft out there,” Cimiluca said. “We welcome them all.”

In addition to providing a weekend of aviation fun for people throughout the region, CSA directly reinvested over $30,000 into the surrounding community through its support of numerous local organizations, including the inaugural presentation of the Berkman- Langen Memorial Fund grant. Through its partnership with the Colorado Civil Air Patrol, CSA awarded a deserving young cadet a grant to enable him to continue training for a private pilot’s certificate. Plans in place extend this program to the general public for 2010. “Our mission focuses on providing children and young adults incentive and opportunity to continue their education, stay on track and maximize their potential,” Cimiluca said. “We believe providing access to general aviation resources makes connections to math and science fun and approachable.”

The air show and fly-in has a 30-year history of bringing the fun and fascination of general aviation to the Colorado Front Range. Before moving to Metro Airport in 2009, the event was held at airports in Watkins, Longmont and Greeley. Individuals, organizations, vendors and sponsors interested in becoming involved with CSA, the air show and fly-in are encouraged to visit their web site at www.COSportAviation.org. Information on the 2010 air show and fly-in will be posted as it becomes available.

About Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport:
Established in 1960, Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport is located in Jefferson County, Colorado, on the northwestern edge of the Denver metropolitan area and just southwest of Boulder. Its diverse geographical setting includes urban, rural, and mountain communities. The Airport is an important component of the air transportation system serving the Denver metropolitan area and the region, providing a safe, efficient operating environment for all classes of general aviation and corporate aircraft. The Airport is also a designated general aviation reliever of Denver International Airport, making it a vital component of the regional and national airport systems. Metro Airport averages over 180,000 operations a year, making it Colorado's fourth busiest airport. Located in Class D airspace, Metro Airport is operational 24 hours a day. To improve overall efficiency of air traffic, the Airport began construction on a new Air Traffic Control Tower in March 2009. Completion of the new, 132-foot-tall tower is expected in October 2010. In addition, the Airport continues to provide many benefits to local business and industry, and supports economic development throughout the County and region.

The RMRFI is presented by CSA and not the Experimental Aircraft Association.
