Evaluation
A comprehensive evaluation which includes an initial interview, testing instruments (SASSI 3, Socrates 7A and/or 7D, ASAM PPC-II, ASUS, Mini-Mental, and Beck Depression Inventory II), and a urine screen. This assessment process is utilized to determine the most appropriate level of care. The women's children's needs are also assessed and services are provided as appropriate. The evaluations are approximately three to five hours long, and are often completed over two sessions. Extensive reports are provided to the referral source.

Specialized Women's Groups
Ongoing weekly groups which are designed for pregnant and postpartum women, and women with dependent children. A nurse is available in order to integrate the medical and psychological issues which occur in substance abusing pregnant women. These groups utilize an interactive model to help the clients to explore how to have a healthy child and how to remain substance free. Group sessions focus on discussions which relate to substance abuse, nutrition, families, women's issues, relationships, mental health, HIV/AIDS, parenting, and prenatal care. The group focus is driven by the needs of the women, who a re each working on individual treatment plans. These treatment plans are developed by the client and her primary counselor during the intake session and are revised as needed through her treatment episode.

Specialized Women's Case Management
Pregnant, postpartum, and parents with dependent children are encouraged to participate in this substance abuse program which combines outreach, assessment, counseling, information, and referral to address the specific needs of substance use, pregnancy, child development, and parenting. Case management, referrals to community agencies, and assistance in obtaining medical care, child immunizations, day care, transportation, and therapeutic interventions for children are provided. The case manager interacts extensively with agencies on community and state levels.
