Amy P. Ito, manager of planning and development for Jefferson County Open Space, has been appointed acting director of the Jefferson County Community Resources Department and Open Space Division. On an interim basis she will fill the position held by Ralph Schell prior to his appointment as the Jefferson County Administrator.
Ito has been the planning and development manager for Open Space since December 2004, and will continue to hold that position while serving as the acting director. Ito initially joined the Jefferson County staff in June 2003, beginning in the Planning and Zoning Division as planning administrator before moving to Open Space. Prior to joining the Jefferson County staff, she was the community development director for the Town of Frisco for nearly eleven years.
Ito holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado at Denver and a bachelor of arts in environmental studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She is a member of the Colorado Chapter of the American Planning Association, National Association of Resource and Recreation Planners, Colorado Open Space Alliance and a graduate of the Leadership Jefferson County and Rocky Mountain Leadership Programs. She is married and lives in Lakewood.
