The Governor of the State of Colorado appoints the Jefferson County Public Trustee for a term concurrent with the Governor. The powers, duties and procedures for operation are defined in Title 38 of the Colorado Revised Statues (C.R.S.), which include foreclosure on Deeds of Trust in default or to release Deeds of Trust that have been satisfied. These topics and other information can be found by clicking in the left navigation fields or on the selections below.
The Jefferson County Public Trustees office is accepting electronic filing of foreclosures and the requirements for eforeclosures can be found under Foreclosure Forms.
NOTE: If the Notice of Election & Demand on a foreclosure was recorded prior to January 1, 2008 then the homeowner still has redemption rights per statute, the new law only applies to those foreclosures where the Notice of Election & Demand is recorded after January 1, 2008.
