Our Commitment To Privacy
In registering for the tax sale, we must collect certain private information in order to administer the tax lien sale and any certificates of purchase that may result.To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Your privacy is important to us.
The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected on the Jefferson County Tax Lien Sale Registration website. The types of personal information collected include:
- Name
- Address
- Email address
- Phone number
- Bank account number
- Social security number
The Way We Use The Information
We share the contact information you provide (Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address) with the Sale Administrator (SRI, Inc.) in order to register you as a bidder.
We require the bank account information you provide to collect any winning bids. This information is not shared with anyone else and all electronic storage of this information is purged after three months. The written ACH Authorization you provide is kept for seven years in accordance with banking regulations.
We file annual 1099 reports with the IRS for any Certificates of Purchase that have been redeemed during that calendar year and require your social security number for only this purpose.
We may provide some of the contact information you provide (Name and Address only) to individuals requesting the identity of a certificate holder.
